Agilent Malaysia employees recently contributed more than 10,000 volunteer hours at the annual Penang International Science and Engineering Fair, a record for Agilent Penang in a single event.
During the two-day event, the largest of its kind in Malaysia, 800 Agilent volunteers guided children through a variety of hands-on activities, from assembling electronic circuits and programming microcontrollers to detecting and identifying compounds in various types of food.
The fair, which attracted more than 30,000 visitors this year, is supported by the government in Penang. Agilent was the organizer for the 2013 event which featured more than 20 exhibits and 14 interactive activities for children.
Agilent’s own activities for children included interactive exhibits which explained the scientific theories behind Agilent’s instruments.
