Agilent Hosts Tomorrow’s Engineers at Santa Rosa Event

Agilent’s Santa Rosa site recently hosted 125 middle and high school age students at its 10th annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day event.   Agilent Chief Technology Officer Darlene Solomon served as guest speaker, sharing experiences from her education and career with the students and encouraging them to “discover your talents and interests.”

Young women from 15 schools and 16 Girl Scout troops participated, along with girls from Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County-affiliated schools and Sonoma State University’s Early Academic Outreach program.  A panel discussion included engineers who discussed their careers with attendees.

Members of Agilent’s Women’s Leadership Development network group coordinated the annual program where employees from Agilent and other local companies volunteered as judges and coaches for teams in the hands-on engineering competitions.

Agilent is a sponsor of Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day and National Engineers Week, which launched the event in 2001.
